Leap Ouch, 48, was killed in a San Francisco car accident after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed the morning of December 9, 2009. According to a news report in the San Jose Mercury News, Ouch was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry during the early morning hours on the northbound Interstate 680 when he drifted into the concrete divider near Capitol Expressway. Emergency personnel who arrived on scene said Ouch had no visible injuries. An autopsy report is being awaited to determine the cause of his death.
I offer my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Leap Ouch who was killed in this car accident. Please keep his grieving family in your prayers.
Car Accidents in Santa Clara County
According to California Highway Patrol's 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were 45 deaths and 3,989 injuries involving car accidents in San Jose. In Santa Clara County as a whole, 88 people died and 7,301 were injured as a result of car accidents in 2007.
Based on this report, it appears that officials suspect Ouch may have suffered a medical condition before the crash. However, that will not be clarified until the autopsy report comes out, which could take several weeks. It is extremely important in such cases to ask the questions that might help determine how or why the car accident occurred. Here are some of the most common questions that arise in a single-car accident. Was the accident caused by a vehicle defect or a mechanical malfunction? Was there a dangerous condition on the roadway, which may have led to the accident? Was another vehicle involved in the car accident – did the driver lose control of the vehicle because he was cut off by another driver? The answers to these questions should help determine whether there was any negligence involved.
