Three people, including an infant, sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident that involved an MTA bus and a car. According to an ABC News report, the injury crash occurred February 15, 2010 on Spring Street near 101 Freeway. The impact from the collision caused the two-door convertible to strike a stoplight post. All three injured victims were occupants of the car. The two injured adults sustained critical injuries while the infant was said to be in "fair condition." An investigation is ongoing.
My heart goes out to all three victims who were injured in this crash. I wish them all the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. Please keep them in your prayers.

Fault and Liability Issues
Based on this news report, it is not clear how or why this bus accident occurred. There are several questions here? Where exactly did this collision take place? Did it occur at an intersection? Did one of the drivers fail to yield right-of-way to the other? Was one of the drivers distracted, negligent, impaired or reckless? Hopefully the official investigation will address these questions and provide some answers.
If the bus driver was at fault for this accident, the transit authority could be held liable for the accident and resulting injuries. The injured victims in such cases can file a claim seeking compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation, surgeries and other related expenses. California law requires that any claim against a governmental agency be filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.
The victims in this case would be well-advised to contact an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all facets of this accident and make sure that the negligent parties are held accountable.
