Matthew Davies, 26, sustained fatal injuries in a California motorcycle accident while he was driving on the Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore the morning of November 26, 2009. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Davies was riding his motorcycle east on Highway 74 when he lost control. The motorcycle veered off the roadway and landed in a ravine, Riverside County coroner's officials said. Davies died shortly after the motorcycle crash.
I offer my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of young Matthew Davies, who must have no doubt suffered a devastating loss. Please keep this grieving family in your prayers.

Based on this newspaper report, it is not clear how or why this fatal motorcycle accident occurred. Usually, in such cases, there may be several factors which caused or contributed to the accident. There are a few unanswered questions here. Was this accident the result of a vehicle defect or a mechanical malfunction in Davies' motorcycle? Was this crash caused by a defective roadway? Was there any debris or obstruction on this highway? Was another vehicle involved in this crash? For example, was Davies' motorcycle run off the roadway by another vehicle? The answers to these questions will hopefully help clarify how this accident occurred and who, if anyone, should be held responsible for this tragic accident.
