Patrick Rogers, 41, was killed in a San Jose car accident after his motorcycle struck a car that was stopped to make a right turn. According to a news report in the San Jose Mercury News, Rogers was westbound on Cherry Avenue at Geomax Court, in his 1999 Harley-Davidson, the night of January 30, 2010. At the time a 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by 51-year-old Christopher Caprino was stopped on Cherry to turn right into an apartment complex. Rogers struck the Cadillac. San Jose police say Caprino probably did not cause the accident, but he has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 5-year-old boy has been hospitalized with injuries after a San Jose car accident, which officials say, was caused by a hit-and-run driver the afternoon of January 20, 2010. According to a CBS news report, the boy was standing in front of his home's garage when he was struck by a Honda Accord. A police officer had noticed the driver of the Honda Accord driving erratically but was unable to prevent the crash. The Honda struck another car causing minor injuries to its occupants and then hit the boy and the garage, before causing a break in a gas line. Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver who ran away from the scene.
